[Fr. alquifoux (arquifoux), ad. Sp. alquifol, ad. Cat. alcofol alcohol (f repr. guttural , cf. alforge and Eng. draft, draught). In this form the word has more closely retained the original sense.]
A lead ore, containing sulphide of lead, which when broken looks like antimony; it is found in Cornwall, and is used by potters to give a green glaze to coarse earthenware.
